General conditions of sale
The cottages are rented for a minimum of 2 nights all year round.
For added flexibility, the arrival day can be any day of the week depending on availability.
A €500 deposit will be taken upon arrival and will only be used in the event of damage to the cottage during your stay. It will be returned to you upon departure after the exit inventory. For groups, the deposit is €1,000 per cottage and €1,000 for the common room.
Guest rooms can be booked from May to September for a minimum of 2 nights to give us time to get to know you better, with a reduced rate for stays of 4 nights or more.
The tenant is responsible for all damages caused by his actions. He is required to be insured by an insurance contract for his civil liability. He will leave the cottage or room perfectly clean, dishes done, all rubbish removed.
Arrival time / Departure time
Your room or gîte will be available at reception from 5 p.m.
On the day of your departure, you must vacate your room/gîte by 10 a.m. at the latest.
It is recommended that you use the "Comments or additional information" box on the booking form to advise of your estimated arrival time, especially if it is late.
Payment Terms : When you book, we collect your credit card details, which will be used to pay for your stay without charging anything. Your booking will not be definitively confirmed until this step is complete.
For the gîtes, 2 days after your reservation, you must have returned to us by email the contract initialed on each page and signed on the last page with the words "read and approved".
For gîtes and guest rooms, 2 days after your reservation, we will charge your bank card 30% of the amount of your stay, with a minimum of €80, or you will have sent us the equivalent amount by the chosen payment method (bank transfer, holiday vouchers, checks).
Balance: The balance of your stay will be paid at the bastide by direct debit from your bank card or chosen payment method.
Payment
Payments should be made primarily with a Visa or Eurocard/Mastercard bank card remotely or by bank transfer directly to our account (in this case, please ask us for a bank account statement). Your bank card details will be encrypted using up to 128-bit SSL (Secured Socket Layer) encryption. Your bank card details will not be transmitted over the internet without encryption.
Cash payments are accepted on site.
Any extras not explicitly included in the prices will be payable directly on site.
Billing currency
Your account will be debited in euros (€).
Cancellation conditions and fees
It is advisable to cancel as soon as possible once the cause of cancellation has arisen.
• If you cancel at least 91 days before your arrival, no cancellation fee will be charged.
• if you cancel between 90 and 31 days before your arrival and we are unable to re-let your gîte or room, 30% will be charged and not refunded, with a minimum of €80.
• If you cancel between 30 and 15 days before your arrival and we are unable to re-let your gîte or room, 50% of the reservation will be charged and non-refundable, with a minimum of €80.
• If you cancel less than 14 days before your scheduled arrival and we are unable to re-let your gîte or room, or in the event of a no-show, 100% of the reservation will be charged and non-refundable.
In the event of cancellation, if you have paid all or part of the reservation online, this amount will be refunded to you after deduction of the cancellation fees explained above.
Taxes
Prices are displayed without VAT, as La Bastide du Claus is not subject to it.
Gîtes: the mandatory tourist tax, per night and per person over 18, is to be added according to the legal rate in force (€1.10 per person per night in 2025 for gîtes). It is already included in the price of guest rooms. The tourist tax is a local tax that the owner pays to the Public Treasury on behalf of the municipality of Cruis.
